Cifarelli Law Firm is Investigating Claims of Sexual Abuse at Servite High School

The Cifarelli Law Firm is actively investigating claims of sexual abuse suffered by students at Servite High School. In light of additional victims coming forward to accuse Father Kevin Fitzpatrick of sexual abuse during their time at the prestigious private school, our firm is actively pursuing additional information that could help victims seek compensatory justice.

Father Fitzpatrick served as both swimming and water polo coach and algebra and religious studies teacher at the high school from 1970-1992. In 2017, he was made the namesake of a new $5.7 million state-of-the-art aquatics facility at the school, something that would prompt one of his alleged victims to bravely step forward with his story of abuse.

The first civil action taken against Servite, the Diocese of Orange, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and the Order of Servants of Mary was filed in 2021 by a man who recalls being abused at the hands of Father Fitzpatrick nearly forty years ago. This victim’s willingness to step forward has emboldened other victims of sexual abuse at Servite to step forward. We hope that others will come forward as well – both to share their stories of survival and seek the justice they deserve.

Thanks to Assembly Bill 218, which went into effect on January 1st, 2020, victims of sexual abuse that occurred decades ago can finally seek justice in the state of California. Our childhood sex abuse attorneys are strong proponents of this bill and encourage anyone who recalls abuse at Servite – or any school, institution, or anywhere else – to reach out and learn about their options. Victims needn’t suffer in silence or face the incredible burden of childhood sexual abuse alone. We are here to provide support, give honest and actionable advice, and assist victims in healing from these terrible wounds.
