Truck Accidents in California
Â
California is home to many large companies that maintain factories and sizeable distribution centers. Trucks are often used to transport goods in and around the state, exposing regular motorists in smaller and lighter vehicles to risks of serious injuries arising from truck accident.
Â
Truck accidents can also cause fatal injuries. A recent truck collision in Highway18 killed a 63-year old motorcyclist when the blue 2002 Honda motorcycle he was riding crashed into the right side of a truck. The truck was being used for deliveries in the area and was employed by an unidentified employer.
Â
The truck driver reportedly failed to slow down or stop at the intersection and at the last minute tried to avoid the motorcycle that was approaching the intersection.
Â
The impact of the collision threw the motorcyclist off his bike and was run over by the rear wheels of the truck. He died at the scene of the accident.
Â
The motorcyclist was an employee of Boeing Satellite Systems in Orange County. He held a Master’s Degree in information security. If pursued in court, the surviving heirs of the motorcyclist may have legal basis to claim compensation for the wrongful death of the accident victim.
